Frequently asked questions
What is speech-language therapy?
Speech-language therapy helps children and adults with how they communicate — including speech sounds, understanding and using language, fluency, voice, and feeding or swallowing. A speech-language pathologist (SLP) assesses each person and builds a plan suited to their needs.
At what age can my child start?
Children can benefit at almost any age. If you have concerns about your child’s speech, language, or feeding, an assessment helps you understand what support, if any, would help.
Do you offer in-person and virtual sessions?
Yes. We provide in-person therapy at our Brampton clinic and live virtual sessions for families across Mississauga and the Peel Region.
Is speech therapy covered by insurance or funding?
Many extended health plans include speech-language services, and some families use Ontario Autism Program (OAP) funding. We’re happy to walk you through the options on a call.
